Karen has worked at design firms, pr agencies, and in corporate and academic environments. Clients have included Fortune 500 companies in automotive and consumer packaged goods (CPG), financial services, higher education, healthcare, real estate and commercial real estate, and nonprofits among others.

Do you use AI?

Yes. AI tools help to streamline design and creativity, but don’t replace the understanding of the strategy needed to connect with users. Any designer needs to develop prompts in a way that not only stays clear of IP issues but also can hit the mark for strategy. I work with AI every day and I can tell you that it gets it wrong a significant amount of the time. I use it to simplify a process, not replace the thinking.

Do you design websites and apps?

Yes. For complex site and app implementation, I will bring in a team to help with development and other technical issues. For apps, I will also source and mange the expertise needed to launch an app or build a testable prototype.

How much will my project cost?

Cost is based on the amount of work needed. We’ll work together to understand what’s required, then we’ll develop a proposal based on the project scope. This may be a project-basis proposal with a defined scope of work or monthly retainers with flexibility in terms of the number and scope of projects for an ongoing need for multiple projects.

How long do projects take?

Every project is unique. We will work together to outline a schedule working back from your final project deadline.
